How does it know where to mow?
A perimeter wire is installed that defines the area to be mowed. The X Series Husqvarna Automower® has an on-board GPS that maps out your lawn and allows the mower to learn how it grows. GPS also ensures that the entire yard is cut.
How much yard can it mow?
The Automower® can mow up to 2 acres of grass. If you have more than 2 acres we can install several units to accommodate as much grass as you mow.
Is the robot safe for pets and kids?
Automowers® are safe for families with pets and young children. More than 1 million Husqvarna Automowers® have been sold in Europe over the past 25 years with a remarkable safety record. Automowers® have sensors that make it stop and turn around when bumping into an object. If the mower is picked up the blades automatically shut off. Our robotic mowers uses non-fixed blades for additional safety.
Can I connect Husqvarna Automower® to Alexa virtual assistant or Google Home?
Husqvarna robotic mowers with Husqvarna Automower® Connect, will be able to use voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Via these voice-controlled speakers, the user can manage the mower. Advanced users can design their own program for the robotic mower via the open API. In addition, Husqvarna Automower® Connect also works with GARDENA SmartSystem, adding irrigation to the smart garden. All robotic mowers from Husqvarna equipped with Automower® Connect are compatible with IFTTT.
What happens to the grass clippings?
The Husqvarna Automower® is cutting your lawn daily, it cuts just a small bit of the grass. These bits of grass fall back down to the soil where they decompose and provide fertilizer-like nutrients to the roots. This makes for a much greener and healthier lawn overall.
Can the robot handle large hills?
We have units that can handle up to a 70% slope.
Can it be programmed for specific times?
Absolutely, it can be setup for a specific schedule If your mower is working in the yard when your ready to use your yard, you can park it immediately and have it resume when you are ready.
What happens if it gets stolen?
We apply a sticker to each unit warning thieves as well as a unique pin code. They are also not valuable to anyone other than the end user because they are automatically disabled if removed from their designated lawn. You are immediately notified via the Automower® Connect app if equipped with GPS tracking.
Can the mower cross sidewalks, driveways and rocky areas?
Automowers® can handle sidewalk and driveway crossings without an issue, they can handle bumpy terrain and lips. Graveled areas are typically fine as well. With the install we can test the area to ensure it works correctly.
Can the mower handle dog waste?
If you have a Mastiff or multiple dogs you may need to clean it up daily but most large breed or smaller dogs the Automower® should not have any issues. However, cleaning up on a regular schedule will always help keep the mower running cleaner.
What about when it rains?
Yes, Automowers® are designed to withstand wet, rainy weather. In fact, your mower will continue cutting in dew or light rain. If the downpour becomes too much, the unit can head back to the recharging station or stopped in a safe place in the yard.
When I go on vacation will a Husqvarna Automower® still work?
Absolutely, one of the best days of your life is when you come home from vacation to find your mower has maintained your grass in your absence so you don’t have to worry about it.
